What is Ecodesign ?
By this term is meant Directive 2009/125/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing a framework for the setting of ecodesign requirements for energy-related products.
After light bulbs, household appliances, etc. The time has come for heating devices. Some of them, such as heat pumps or gas boilers, are already covered by this requirement since 2015. Solid fuel heating boilers, on the other hand, are included in the EU Commission Regulation 2015/1189 of 28 April 2015, effective from 1 January 2020.
The offered devices, designed in accordance with EKODESIGN requirements, will significantly contribute to the improvement of air quality thanks to energy and fuel saving. Unfortunately, this also means that some of the currently manufactured equipment will have to be eliminated from sale. This applies in particular to inefficient, low-efficiency boilers with above-normative emission of harmful compounds.
